Florian Götz

In the 2020/21 season Florian Götz will sing the title roles in Purcell's Dido and Aeneas with the Lautten Compagney Berlin under the direction of Max Koch, Vivaldi's Il Bajazet at the Staatstheater Nürnberg under Wolfgang Katschner and Mozart's Le Nozze di Figaro under Stefan Vladar at the Theater Lübeck and the role of Porus in Telemans/Handel's Cleofida at the Tage für Alte Musik Herne under Jörg Halubek with the ensemble Il Gusto Barocco. At the Musikfestspiele Potsdam he performs the male lead role of Damon in Telemann's Pastorelle en musique under Dorthee Oberlinger. Florian Götz extends his chamber music work as a guest singer with the ensemble The Present in concerts at the Schwetzinger Festspiele 2021 and a CD production of the programme at WDR, among others.

In the 2019/20 season Florian Götz took on, among others. the role of Argante in Handel's Rinaldo and Amanzio in Handel's Giustino at the Göttingen Handel Festival with the Lautten Compagney Berlin, Dottore Malatesta in Donizetti's Don Pasquale at the Staatstheater Augsburg, Papageno in Mozart's Die Zauberflöte and the Doctor in Goethe's Scherz, Cunning and Revenge with L'Arte del Mondo at the Goethe Theatre Bad Lauchstädt, as well as the role of Georg Elser in the world premiere of Sebastian Schwab's Nau bens hald i at the Heidenheim Opera Festival, Bach's Christmas Oratorio at Trondheim Cathedral and Schubert's Winterreise with the renowned Grundmann Quartet. He will debut as Baron de Brik-Brak in Gazzaniga's Isola d'Alcina directed by Michael Schulz at the Schwetzingen Festival and sing the baritone part in Vaughn-Williams Sea Symphony at the Kulturpalast Dresden.

He has appeared as a guest at the Staatstheater Darmstadt, Karlsruhe, Weimar, the Leipzig Opera, the Grand Opéra de Reims and the Théâtre de l'Athénée (Paris). At the Opéra National de Paris, Bastille, he made his debut in the role of Artabano in Pagliardi's Caligula delirante with the ensemble Le Poème Harmonique under Vincent Dumestre. In 2014 he sang under Jean-Claude Malgoire in Il Barbiere di Siviglia at the Théâtre des Champs-Elysées and as Guglielmo (Cosi fan tutte) at the Gasteig in Munich.

He is a regular guest at renowned festivals such as the Ludwigsburger Schloßfestspiele, the Rheingau Musik Festival, the Telemann Festtage, the Händelfestspiele Halle, Karlsruhe and Göttingen, the Festival de Sablé and many others and gives concerts at the Konzerthaus Berlin, Gasteig Munich, de Single Antwerp, the Philharmonie Warsaw or the Concertgebouw Amsterdam.

He also works with orchestras such as the Gewandhaus Leipzig, the Nuremberg and Stuttgart Symphony Orchestras, Staatskapelle Weimar, Lautten Compagney Berlin, L'arte del Mondo, Ricercar Consort, under conductors such as Sir Collin Davis, Antony Bramall, Marcus Bosch, Nicolas Milton, Wolfgang Katschner, Michael Sanderling, Konrad Junghänel, Daniel Huppert, Johannes Pell, Christoph Gedschold, Joana Mallwitz and Felix Bender and the direction of, among others, Tatjana Gürth. Tatjana Gürbaca, Michael Hampe, André Bücker, Katharina Thalbach, John Dew, Gabriele Resch, Tobias Kratzer and Guy Montavon, among others.

He also devotes himself intensively to Lied singing with partners such as Alexander Schmalcz, Daniel Heide and Georg Michael Grau. Under Michael Sanderling he sang Gustav Mahler's Lieder aus des Knaben Wunderhorn at the Konzerthaus Berlin.

In 2014 Florian Götz celebrated his New York debut at the Milner Theatre under Vincent Dumestre with the ensemble Le Poème Harmonique and sang Testo in Monteverdi's Il combattimento under Konrad Junghänel. In 2015 he also sang Papageno at the Mozartfest Würzburg and Pan (Bach BWV 201) at the National Center of Arts Taipei and Papageno in Papageno und die Zauberflöte at the Oper Leipzig. In 2015/16 among others Ping (Turandot) at Landestheater Innsbruck, with Schubert's Winterreise at CNSM Paris, Lumaca in Salieri's La scuola de gelosi in a CD production for Sony. In 2016/2017 he sang Schaunard in Puccini's La Bohème and Dr. Falke in Die Fledermaus under Marcus Bosch at the Opernfestspiele Heidenheim, Amanzio in Händel's Giustino with the Lauttencompagney Berlin, and Corpo in Cavalieri's Anima e Corpo in Göttingen. In addition, several concerts with Mendelssohn's Elijah, Bach's Christmas Oratorio in Trondheim, Haydn's Seasons at the Festspielhaus Bregenz and Orff's Carmina Burana at the Gasteig Munich were scheduled, as well as concerts with the world premiere of Enjott Schneider's Luther cantata ...da ist freiheit at the Schwarzwald Musikfestival with the Philharmonie Baden-Baden.

From 2010-2014 Florian Götz was a member of the ensemble at the Erfurt Theatre, where he appeared in a number of specialist roles, including Papageno (Magic Flute), Belcore (L'elisir d'amore), Dr Falke (Fledermaus), Ottokar (Freischütz), Dandini (La Cenerentola), Schaunard (La Bohème) and Ping (Turandot).

Florian Götz studied school music and trumpet, followed by vocal studies at the Guildhall School of Music and Drama in London, as well as at the Musikhochschule in Weimar. Since 2013 he has been working with Margreet Honig in Amsterdam.

Since 2016 Florian Götz has been a lecturer for singing at the University of Erfurt.
